Duane's Studio Policies

Curriculum

  • I use the Fiddlequest curriculum.  You will want to get your account set-up before your first lesson.  Cost is $15/month.  You can sign up at www.fiddlequest.com

Teaching Calendar

  • Lessons start on 9/5/22 and end 6/14/24.

  • There are 33 scheduled lessons over 10 months.

  • Camps will be the weeks of 6/24/23 and 7/8/23.

  • You can see the year-at-a-glance calendar here.

Cancellations and Make-ups

  • When you need to cancel a lesson, please let me know as soon as you can. I will update the calendar to show that spot as available for a make-up lesson.

  • If you miss a lesson, no matter the cause, you can reschedule to a spot that is marked as “AVAILABLE” or “Cancel”. You can find those spots on my calendar.

  • Cancellations never expire for enrolled students. You can use them the following year if you don’t get to use them before lessons end for the school year.

  • Monthly tuition does not change when you miss a lesson.

  • An easier (and recommended) solution is to have a partnership with another family that is in the lesson before or after you. If your child has to cancel, your partner’s child can have the extra time for their lesson. You can take their lesson time the next week or simply keep track and use it when they have to cancel.

  • In the event that a teacher needs to cancel a lesson, we will work with parents to reschedule at any time that is convenient for the student. If necessary, a lesson credit will be given for the following month.

Contact List

  • Email me for a contact list of parents.

Tuition

  • $160 / month for 30 min lessons

  • Tuition is for 33 lessons and jams over 10 months

  • Tuition is paid in 10 equal payments of $160 over the 10 months of the teaching year. Some months will have a different number of lessons, but the payments stay the same.

  • Preferred method of payment is a check, auto-pay from bank or venmo to @Duane-Whitcomb-Violin.

Location

  • My studio is at 1179 Village Square Dr in Ashland.

Additional Information

  • It is good to try and arrive 5 minutes early and have your fiddle ready and tuned so that we can make full use of your lesson time.

  • Our Creekside community hosts several community gatherings throughout the year that include jams, dances, performances, etc.  You will learn about these gatherings in our weekly emails called “Fiddle news” or can see these events on our events calendar.
